Burgau
is home to one of Portugal’s first and finest beach bars, which has gained
recognition as far afield as the New York Times. There are numerous cafes and
restaurants serving local specialties. Several allow you to dine on fresh fish
and vinho verde while gazing at the moon over the Atlantic Ocean. The surrounding
countryside is outstanding for hikes and famous for its beautiful floral smells.
Other options include horseback riding, bicycling, golf, tennis, sailing or exploring
the “hinterlands.”
